What is Piedmont SA?
Piedmont SA is a pro-development soccer club based in the Winder/Barrow County, Georgia area. We compete in the United Premier Soccer League (UPSL), one of the top amateur and pro-development leagues in the United States. First Team is part of the broader Piedmont Soccer Academy family, which has been developing players and serving the local community for years.
What is the UPSL?
The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is one of the largest pro-development soccer leagues in the country, operating within the U.S. Soccer pyramid. We compete in the UPSL Division 1, Georgia Conference. The UPSL provides a competitive environment for players looking to continue their careers beyond college or transition toward professional opportunities.
When did Piedmont SA launch?
Piedmont SA is a new club launching for the Fall 2026 UPSL season, which runs September through December. We're building this team from the ground up and are excited to bring competitive pro-development soccer to the Barrow County area for the first time.
Where is the team located?
We are based in Winder, Georgia, in Barrow County. Our practice and home match facilities are located through a partnership with Barrow County Parks and Recreation. Exact field locations and schedules will be posted on our website and social media channels.
PLAYERS & TRYOUTS
Who is eligible to play for Piedmont SA?
Piedmont SA is an adult pro-development team. Players must be at least 18 years of age to participate. We welcome players of all backgrounds; former college players, experienced adult league players, and anyone serious about competing at a higher level.
How do I try out for the team?
Tryout information, dates, and registration details are available on our Player Signup page. We encourage any player interested in competing at the pro-development level to register early. Spots on the roster are limited.
Are there roster fees?
Yes. Like most UPSL clubs, Piedmont SA operates on a player-supported model. There are fees associated with joining the active and reserve rosters, which help cover league fees, facility costs, equipment, and operations. Full pricing details are available on the Player Signup page.
What is the difference between an active and reserve roster spot?
Active roster players are eligible to appear in UPSL match-day rosters and compete in league play. Reserve roster players are part of the team's training group and may be elevated to active status during the season depending on need and performance. Both roster tiers help support the overall program.
What do players need to bring or provide?
Players are expected to provide their own cleats, shinguards, and training gear. The club provides official match uniforms and handles all UPSL registration and compliance requirements. Specific gear requirements will be communicated during the onboarding process.
SEASON & SCHEDULE
When is the season?
Our inaugural season is the Fall 2026 UPSL season, running September through December. We will also be evaluating future spring season participation as the club grows.
How many games are in the season?
UPSL Georgia Conference teams typically play a regular season schedule of league matches, with potential postseason play for top finishers. Full schedule details will be published once the league releases the official calendar.
Where are home games played?
Home matches are played at our facilities in Barrow County through our agreement with Barrow County Parks and Recreation. Specific field locations and match times will be listed on our schedule page and announced via our social media channels.
